A scarce Early 19th Century original green velvet lined & brass mounted mahogany fitted gun case for a pair of Purdey's. The trade label in the lid is fo rPurdey's "4 Princes Street, Leicster Square" address (The 315 Oxford Street address has been added to the label in pencil).The case with brass mounted corners & a circular brass lifting handle with a brass escutcheon engraved with crest in the form of a winged crown set in the middle. There is an old wood repair to the lower right hand side of the front of the case and some minor repairs to the velvet lining as shown in the images but all in all a very nice rare casing.Dimensions: External 32.5" x 13.25" x 4". Internal 31" x 11.75" x 2.85".
